What Is the Easiest Side Hustle in the UK? (2026 Guide)

Quick answer:

The easiest side hustle in the UK right now is paid market research, because you don’t need skills, you don’t need money to start, and you can do it from your sofa with a brew.

But let’s break it down properly.

Why “easy” doesn’t mean “lazy”

When people ask me for the easiest side hustle, what they really mean is:

  • No upfront cost
  • No long training
  • No awkward selling
  • Something you can do around kids, work, or life
  • Something that actually pays

So here are the genuinely easy ones, the ones I’ve done myself lots of times and made a decent bit of money, so I don’t have to have a full-time job anymore.

1. Paid Market Research (My personal go‑to)

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know this is my favourite “quick win”.

You literally get paid to give your opinion.
No skills. No pressure. No weird tasks.

Typical pay: £10–£60 per study
Time: 5–30 minutes
Why it’s easy: You can do it while watching telly.

My favourite platform:
👉 User interviews (This one gives you a bonus when you join)

👉Askable – Excellent app, really easy to apply and short tasks

👉Respondent – Excellent, if you have a work email, you get access to a lot more studies

2. Cashback Apps (Free money you’re already earning)

This is the easiest “set it and forget it” side hustle.

You shop → you earn.
You don’t change anything about your life.

Typical earnings: £10–£40 a month
Why it’s easy: You’re already doing the shopping.

3. Selling Unused Items (The fastest cash)

If you want money today, this is the one. Vinted is my favourite at the moment, takes minutes to list, and things can sell within seconds, honestly! I price mine quite cheaply as it’s stuff I would have normally just given to the charity shop. I love the feeling of selling things and them going to a new home. For me personally, ive had much more luck selling home decor than clothes.

I once made £120 in an afternoon just selling things I didn’t even remember owning.

Where to sell:

Tip: List 10 items at once and batch them.

4. User Testing (Speak your thoughts, get paid)

You test websites or apps and talk out loud about what you see. Ive been doing this for a few years now and am nearly at my $10,000 mark!! I normally try to do a couple a day if I can, and always apply for the longer studies that pay £25per 30 mins and £50 per hour.

Typical pay: £5–£40 per test
Why it’s easy: No camera, no pressure, just your voice.
